Founded in 1937 at the
urging of Mary McLeod
Bethune, the
BHB serves the
needs of primary and
secondary teachers who
incorporate African
American history into their
lesson plans.  Now
peer-reviewed, the
Bulletin
has been redesigned to
meet the national teaching
standards and to be the
nexus between educational
innovators and students. The

BHB
is published biannually.
Edited by the noted historian
V.P. Franklin of the University
of California, Riverside,

JAAH
