The Mis-Education of the Negro
The Mis-Education of the Negro
By Carter G. Woodson
Originally published in 1933, Woodson's classic
work of social commentary examines how African
Americans, deprived of a knowledge of their
history, find itself disadvantaged in grappling with
the racism and other problems confronting the
community.  Hard-hitting and uncompromising,
Woodson takes educated blacks to task for failing
to become servants of the race.
