Ever since 1926, when Carter G. Woodson initiated Negro History Week, the Association has
offered the public materials to support the celebration of the national theme. Within the circles of
the Association, the Negro History Week Kit was born. Originally it consisted of a pamphlet,
pictures, and posters. ASALH continues that tradition. The advent of digital techology allows us
to expand dramatically what we offer.
